A Visitor!

This past week my best friend came to stay with us.  It was her first time in Massachusetts.  She painted a mural in Lincoln's room, held sleeping babies, baked, successfully made candy for the first time, and saw a little of Boston.  We took a drive to Walden Pond on a rainy day, and jumped out of the van to take a few pictures while the children slept.  And we showed her Babson, the school Tyler is attending.

This tree was grown from a cutting off the Isaac Newton tree!

"C" is for car.  Thanks for getting us a pumpkin to carve, Lizzy!  She even roasted the seeds, mmmm!
TWO different types of brittle: pumpkin seed and pecan.  Delicious!

We made, ate, and cleaned up a lot of fruit smoothies.

Lizzy held both of the babies quite a bit.  Hazel couldn't stop smiling at her Auntie.  I mean, really, really big, gushing smiles.  And Ezra laughed.  Yes, Ezra laughs now.  :-)

I am grateful she was willing to use up her vacation time and purchase a plane ticket to brave our hectic household. Who knew she was also reserving a first row seat to my first mental breakdown since birthing the babies! Unfortunately I am an over-anxious hostess. Or, maybe just an over-anxious person. All I can say is that I attempted to be and do too much.  Smile more, fret less, is my lesson here.  Thank you, Liz, for all the love you showered on us.  We'll see you in December when we visit Utah!
